Requirements for contact person in Estonia

According to the new amendments in Corporate Law of Estonia, the Contact person shall be appointed if the company established in Estonia does not have any Member of the Management Board residing in Estonia.

This amendment will enter into force on 15 January 2018. Therefore, all Estonian companies managed only by the non-residents shall meet the new requirement by appointing a local Contact person. Only a notary, notary’s office, advocate, law office, sworn auditor, audit firm, tax representative or a licensed service provider may be appointed as the Contact person.

The Contact person will be responsible for receiving the official correspondence and forwarding it to the Members of the Management Board.
